New Magic Expansion Delayed in China by... Iceberg?
Thursday, 28 January 2010 01:00

magicWell now that we at Bombed-Out Radio are playing Magic the Gathering we figured why not report some news regarding it.  The first bit of news is that the prerelease sale of the new Worldwake expansion has been delayed in China due to an iceberg...  We're not quite sure what is more amazing:  that icebergs are still holding up shipments in the day of GPS, satellite tracking and whatever else, or the fact that Magic cards ARE NOT in fact printed in China.  I will probably spend the better part of tomorrow trying to figure out where they are actually printed and why there is an iceberg between that country and China.

Select U.S. Burger Kings Will Soon Serve Beer!
Friday, 22 January 2010 15:31

bkWe're not really quite sure how to look at this article. Either Burger King brainstormed one of the few ways to make their establishments less healthy... Or they brainstormed a way to make Burger King the coolest place ever to go get fast food. The Associated Press reported (via NPR) that the first location will be in Miami Beach and "it's scheduled to open mid-February. The announcement was made Friday".

So now when the decision comes down to hitting up the new club on the strip or going to Burger King... Burger King just got a lot more enticing.

Steam Pushes Bioshock 2 Preorders With Some Sweet Deals!
Tuesday, 19 January 2010 19:27

bioshockPre-orders for Bioshock 2 have commenced and Steam is doing their part to make sure people get involved.  This is a two way deal and both ways are pretty pimp.  First part of the deal is a Bioshock 2 preorder is 10% off AND you get a free copy of the original Bioshock to tide yourself over with until Bioshock 2 hits the shelves.  The second aspect to this deal is even sweeter if you have some friends that will go in on this with you:  you can purchase a 4-pack of preorders for 134.97.  Not only does that make each copy just 33.75ish but you also get 4 free original Bioshock games as well!  If you are interested in playing this game when it comes out you can't really beat this deal at the moment.

Fox is Preparing for a U.S. Version of Torchwood
Tuesday, 19 January 2010 16:22

torchwoodWe're not really sure how to feel about this one.  We LOVE Doctor Who and by proxy we love Torchwood.  What we don't love is what Fox tends to do with television series.  The cards seem to be stacked in Torchwood's favor though: it is being written by Russell Davies who is the original series creator, it has enough distance from the original Dr. Who series to shake some of that 'nerd' persona and involve wider audiences and it has the entire original production team which is saying a lot in our books.

Now for what is standing in it's way.  Fox.  Oh, and they haven't confirmed who would be in the cast if this does in fact go to pilot.  For the love of god Fox:  KEEP JOHN BARROWMAN.  And his coat.  Actually, we like Ianto as well.  And Gwen... and everyone else for that matter.  We understand that it is a very U.S. thing to do to take British shows and make them more 'American' but please don't do this with the Dr. Who series...  It would make us cry.
