Ubisoft Making 10 Games for Natal |

During an investor call, which happens a lot I guess, Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot addressed the company’s upcoming Microsoft Project Natal and Sony’s Motion Wand titles. "We have around ten games that will come out for Natal during the first six months of its release," said Guillemot. "And we expect four to five games for Sony's new motion controller. That's the picture at the moment. It can change in the next twelve months.” He was also asked how many of said games will be based off new or current franchises such as Prince of Persia. "I didn't count the games that are supporting the new functions that those accessories will bring, he said. "I was more speaking about casual games that we are doing on those two machines. We can consider on those games 70 percent new properties." While Natal has no official release date, Microsoft big wigs have hinted at fall 2010 while Sony has said its motion controller will be out this spring.

I had to read this headline a few times to get it. Reported on IGN, there is a Duke Nukem Facebook page that was apparently started by 3DRealms owner and founder Scott Miller who posted a picture from an unannounced game known as "D-Day" meaning one of two things…either it’s a rebirth of Duke Nukem Forever or a totally new game. According to Duke4.net, Miller said he did in fact create the Facebook page and recently updated his person profile saying “the trailer rocks!” He also recently said “Something big and unexpected will soon be announced.” Duke Nukem D-Day was a planned release for the PlayStaion 2 in 2003 before being destroyed. So, in true Chris Hoss fashion, it’s an announcement of an announcement. We’ll see.

Ever wanted to dress up your Xbox 360 avatar as the Vault Boy? Well now you can. Reported on Kotaku, Bethesda has announced that it will be bringing a total of six new get-ups to put your avatar in. Three of the shirts will be available for 80 Microsoft points apiece, as well as a standard Vault 101 suit, with Pipboy for 280 Microsoft points, a Vault boy suit for 240 points…and that suit come complete with a Vault Boy head to put on your avatar. Pretty cool I think.

Diablo III Not Coming in 2010 :( |

In 2010, Blizzard has a few big releases ready in StarCraft II and the next WoW expansion pack Cataclysm. With Blizzard being known to work on their games until it’s perfect before release, those two titles in one year is huge. However, there is a casualty for that year in the form of Diablo III. Speaking to Techland, Blizzard executive Rob Pardo confirmed Diablo III’s release about a year and a half ago. “We always announce all of our games too early. We realize that and go, ‘You know what? Next time we’re not going to do that.’ And then we always fail at that. But I’d rather fail at that than fail at making the game great. I think it’s safe to say that, yeah, (Diablo III) is not going to be out next year.” Grrrrr! This game and StarCraft II is the only reason I planned on buying a brand new PC, so it looks like I’ll be waiting a bit longer.
